As part of Lumina Lamb, Merryvale Farm shares a commitment to producing premium New Zealand lamb with care, transparency, and respect for the environment it operates within.
Located within the remote coastal landscape of The Catlins, Merryvale Farm is shaped by the rugged environment that surrounds it, from rolling pasture and dense native bush to the wildlife that inhabits the coastline nearby, and spans 1,270 hectares.
Led by Stu & Jen Affleck and family, the farm reflects a strong connection between farming and conservation. Alongside producing premium lamb for the Lumina programme, the family works closely with the Department of Conservation to help protect the endangered yellow-eyed penguin population located on their farm. Native planting and environmental protection are an important part of maintaining the health of both the farm and the surrounding landscape.
At Merryvale, sustainable farming is rooted in everyday action, caring for the land, supporting animal welfare and working through the Lumina programme to build a more resilient future.
